ART STUDIO NEWSLETTER

How do I sign up for Kelsey Proffitt’s art studio newsletter?

You can subscribe through my website, here: Become a VIP or you can email me at kelsey@kelseyproffittart.com, requesting to be added to the mailing list and I will add you.

How often is the Art Studio Newsletter sent out?

Usually it is sent out once a month. When I have a new series of works coming out, you will get a few more that month to inform you of all the events and details of that release. My subscribers get first peek and first chance to add some colorful joy to their home or business when I release a new series of works.

What’s in the newsletter?

I love sharing Studio news, special offers, gallery and show openings, stories about and the inspiration for my artworks, and the opportunities for first looks at new work.

BUYING ART

If I purchase a piece of art, what other costs can I expect to have to pay?

I work to keep things simple for you. If you are in the continental US, shipping is free. To ship art to Hawaii, Alaska, or internationally, there will be a surcharge for the cost over domestic shipping costs, and there may be taxes or duties levied by your government. Each artwork shipped will include tracking & insurance.

I am adding joy to my life and purchasing a painting on your web site. What happens next?

  • You should receive a confirmation email from support@kelseyproffittart.com. Check your spam folder, if you did not receive it.
  • If you are in the Houston area, I’m happy to deliver the painting direct to you. It will be wired and ready to hang. If you are outside the Houston area, your painting will be carefully packed for shipping. This can take up to a week, depending on the size of the painting and if it will be shipped stretched or rolled.
  • If the work is shipped, I will let you know once your piece is shipped, along with the tracking number so that you can track it on-line.
  • I generally ship smaller paintings by USPS or FedEx ground and can ship to your home or office.
  • For large paintings, you will want to make arrangements to have someone home to receive the painting or make arrangements with the courier to pick up.

“I LOVE THIS PAINTING BUT” I HAVE A QUESTION

I love this painting, but I don’t know if it will fit my space.

No problem! Send me an email at kelsey@kelseyproffittart.com with the painting you love and photo of your space (along with rough measurements) and I’ll prepare an image of the painting in your space for you to preview. This is a complimentary service.

I love this painting, but I need some time to think about it or talk to a family member about it.

No problem! Send me an email at kelsey@kelseyproffittart.com with the painting you love and I’ll place it on reserve for one week. At the end of the week, I’ll follow up with you to see if you would like to add that work of happiness in your life. Putting a painting on reserve means that no one else will be able to buy the painting for one week, giving you the time to be sure you want to move forward.

I love this painting, but I’m trying to figure out how to make it work with my budget.

No problem! I love making my original works available to fit your space and budget. If your budget isn’t as big as the painting you love, there are a couple of options:

  • You can commission an original work of art to fit your space and budget. The first step is to message me through one of my social media channels or email me at kelsey@kelseyproffittart.com
  • I offer no interest, installment payments (with no upcharge on the painting price). Email me with the name of the painting you love and we can work out a flexible payment option that works for your budget.

COMMISSIONING A PAINTING

How do I initiate a request for a commissioned artwork?

I want to make it as simple as possible for you to add your own special work! The first step is to message me through one of my social media channels OR email me at kelsey@kelseyproffittart.com. When I receive your request, I’ll check my commissions calendar and give you an estimate for when I can queue it. Generally speaking, there is usually about a one month wait due to demand, and that is often longer in the holiday season, so please reach out sooner than later, particularly if this is a special gift, for an event, building, office, or store location.

What is the process for ordering a commission?

After we confirm the starting date, we start with a conversation. We discuss your inspiration, who the piece is for, where it will be hung/installed, what colors bring you joy & happiness/what other paintings you like in my collection, and what sizes work for the space, and the pricing, based on size. If you decide to move forward to the next step, I create small painting sketches (if needed) for your review and we talk again to discuss the sketch and confirm the details and size. With a 50% initial payment, I begin work on your custom painting.

What is the process for creating a commissioned work?

Once we have agreed to the sketch and the size, I order the canvas, if I don’t already have it in stock. When the canvas arrives, I begin work on the painting! Before it’s final, I’ll email a photo so you can see the painting and give feedback (what you would like to see more or less of). I’ll make necessary changes and send follow up photos for final review. Once you are happy with the result, you send the remaining balance due, before shipping/delivery. (If you are in the Houston area, I can deliver the painting to you.)

How long does a commissioned painting take to complete?

This depends on the queue of commissions at the time of the order, how large the commissioned piece is, and how many iterations the commissioned artwork requires. While it is on a case-by-case basis, you should normally expect anywhere between 2 and 8 weeks to complete.

What if I don’t like the final product?

In the unusual case that you don’t like the final product, please email me at kelsey@kelseyproffittart.com, so I can make this right for you. I value your investment in my artwork and I want you to feel joy & happiness through the process and with your painting.

PAYING FOR ART

What form of payment is accepted?

When purchasing an artwork directly from my website, you are given many options, including all credit cards, PayPal, Google Pay, etc. When purchasing a commission directly from me, invoices are sent through PayPal, which will allow you to pay using a credit card, even if you don’t have a PayPal account.

Do you offer installment payment plans?

Yes, I do and for some collectors this is an important benefit. My installment payment plans are no interest and the payment amount each month can be flexible.

How do I request an installment payment plan?

If there is a work you love, but would like to pay for over time, message me through one of my social media channels or email me at kelsey@kelseyproffittart.com to let me know. We will sort out the number and timeline of payments.

How does the installment payment plan work?

Once you make your first payment, I will put the painting On Reserve on my website so that no one else can purchase it. With each payment received (by PayPal) I’ll send an update with the balance. When the payments are complete, I will ship or, if you are in the Houston area, deliver the art.

Are installment payments refundable?

No, the installment payments are not refundable. However, if something happens and you cannot continue your payments, let me know and we will work out a plan either for a new payment schedule, a different painting, or a credit towards a different painting or a commission.

I love this one particular painting, but can’t afford it on my budget. What are my options?

There are two options:

  • We can work out an installment payment plan (see above for details), or
  • You can commission a work that’s similar but in a different size. (see Commissions for more information).

SHIPPING ART

How will my painting be packaged?

  • Paintings with sides that are less than 48″ in length will be wrapped to protect the art and bubble wrap and packed in a very thick, sturdy envelope for works on paper or cardboard box for canvases. I recycle shipping packaging as much possible but am always careful to choose packaging that’s structurally sound and will protect the art.
  • There are options for shipping paintings with at least one side 48″ or larger. I can remove it from the stretcher bar and roll it up in a tube. With this approach, you will need to have the canvas re-stretched when you receive it. If you have purchased a painting that needs to be stretched and you would like it shipped directly to a framer, please contact me at kelsey@kelseyproffittart.com to make the arrangements. If you prefer to have a large painting shipped already on stretcher bars, I will ship it in a wood crate or Masterpak Stronghold box.

How do you ship paintings?

I usually ship paintings by USPS, FedEx, UPS, and if you are in the Houston area, I often can deliver artworks in person.

Where is my work shipped from?

Paintings are shipped out from Houston, TX, USA.

How long will it take for my painting to be delivered?

Your painting will be packaged within 5 working days of payment and then shipped. The time for delivery varies, depending where you are.

Do you offer expedited shipping?

Yes, please contact me at kelsey@kelseyproffittart.com and I can calculate the expedited shipping surcharge.

How will I know when to expect my artwork?

I will send you the tracking number with an anticipated delivery date. For larger paintings, you may want to make arrangements to have someone at home to sign for and receive the painting or make arrangements with the courier to pick up.

What information do you need from me, to ship my artwork?

I will need a complete shipping address, either a residence or a business. Smaller pieces can be shipped to US post box numbers, but larger pieces (over 14”x14”) typically need to ship to a residence or business address.

RETURN POLICY

What is your return policy?

If you change your mind about a work, I understand and want to make it right for you. Non-commissioned paintings can be returned for the full amount, minus any shipping costs, so long as certain conditions are met:

  • Seven (7) days from receiving the painting, you must let me know in writing that you would like to return the artwork.
  • The artwork must be returned in its original packaging and in the same condition as when it was shipped. It is important, therefore, to take care when both unpacking and repacking your artwork.

If you are not satisfied with a commissioned painting when you see it in person, please contact me at kelsey@kelseyproffittart.com. Your satisfaction is very important to me.

What if I decide that I would like to return my artwork, but the 7-day window has passed?

Please contact me at kelsey@kelseyproffittart.com. Your satisfaction is very important to me.
